Now that the 2008-9 Minor League Baseball season has come to a close, let’s see how the former Austin Peay players fared. Those players currently in Major League Baseball will be profiled when their seasons have been completed.
Rowdy Hardy’s season began with the Single-A Wilmington Blue Rocks and ended with the Double-A Northern Arkansas Naturals, both affiliates of the Kansas City Royals. The Naturals made it all the way to the Texas League Championship Series before losing to the Midland Rockhounds in four games. Hardy gave up 5 runs, 8 hits, and 2 HRs in 5 innings during his only appearance of the series.
While with Wilmington, Hardy compiled a record of 3-1 with a 1.88 ERA. Hardy went 4-4 with Northwestern Arkansas with a 3.43 ERA. The Giants lost in the Arizona League Championship Game. Wilshire got the loss in the championship game, giving up 3 hits, 2 runs, and 1 HR in 2.2 innings.
